The problem with casual photography is that is allows for unabashed voyeurism. It seems that the adventure has been subtracted. It is as if the lens takes you out of the scene and (falsely) adds a barrier between subject and object.
With the advances in digital photography people just snap away without regard for the number of photos they take or their quality. Snipers versus bombers i suppose.
